Safe in Sussex

Since 2017, we have been working to give expressive, creative arts provision for children and their mothers with Safe in Sussex.  We run fortnightly sessions of our Creative Safe Space, run by two experienced arts practitioners Helen Goodwin and Lucy Myton.  Sessions are run in the community and in the women’s refuges.

Women are able to enjoy seeing their children having fun! It shows them how use art for play and  new ways to interact with their children

By making art together, the mothers are rebuilding and strengthening bonds with their children that may have been strained during their previous home life.  This is a truly magical — you can’t put into words how powerful it is.
