As part of the photography project held between August 2014 and February 2015 in Clube de Artes, young people learned how to make their own stop-motion animations.

They started with short videos of themselves, using their skills with a manual SLR camera on a tripod. They learned how to make multiple photos give the appearance of movement, before progressing to more complex animations.

As the sessions went on, they began to realise the wide range of possibilities using the technique and improved their abilities to develop their ideas. By the end of the project, they said they had found the process intuitive and were now confident in making animations.
