Being Human: Human Being

‘Being Human – Human Being’ is a national youth initiative which aims to break down barriers and prejudices surrounding young trans *people. The project worked using photography as a medium to explore everyday issues groups face, as well as help educate an audience on how gender identity and gender expression translate into everyday life for many people.

ARTICULATE worked with a group of young people who attend the ‘Transformers’a support group for trans* young people aged 16-25 run by the Allsorts youth project in Brighton. The project has produced a book which has become something educational; outlining the correct terminology and dismissing common myths, as well as advocating for other to become ‘trans-allies’; people who don’t harbor fear and prejudice towards trans* groups.
